Barkhausen
systems are designed for the control of surface quality and
testing of near surface defects involving changes in stress and
microstructure. Grinding burns and various heat treat defects
created during induction hardening and carburizing processes are
rapidly and reliably found by the Barkhausen system. Detecting
grinding burns through plating is also possible with the
Barkhausen system.
The
Rollscan 200 was introduced in
1987 to measure for grinding burns and heat treat defects.
The
Rollscan 300 was introduced in
2005 to measure for grinding burns and heat treat defects.
The
µScan
600 was introduced in 2005 for
