A simple Camshaft Inspection System can consist of a Rollscan, camshaft sensor, sensor arm and manually rotating stand for the camshaft. Stresstech Groupīs systems for crankshaft inspection can be manual or off-line, audit inspection systems. The minimum instrumentation for crankshaft checking consists of a Rollscan and a crankshaft sensor. With View Scan software used for data acquisition the measurements are remarkably improved. Even more the measurements can be improved by adding sensors with multiple channels as well as a measurement stand, on which the heavy crankshaft are easily handled and rotated. The crankshafts are loaded and unloaded manually onto the stand and then rotated by a motor. Depending on the needs regarding measurement automation, the sensor can be moved to measure the one or each lobe manually or using programmable logic control. The system reports to the operator a pass or fail condition and indicates the degree and location of damage. A full measuring cycle takes only minutes and can be performed by the grinding machine operator, providing immediate feedback regarding the grinder performance.
