Camshaft Inspection Stand

Camshaft Inspection Stand

Stresstech Group’s Camshaft Inspection Systems make the quality of camshafts easy and fast to monitor, whether in the laboratory or in the production line. A full range of models from manual to fully automated systems are available  to suit your needs.

A simple Camshaft Inspection System can consist of a Rollscan, camshaft sensor, sensor arm and manually rotating stand for the camshaft.

Inspection speed and accuracy can be increased by automating the camshaft rotation and sensor movements, and increasing the number of sensors. The measurement results can automatically be analyzed with the View Scan, a special data acquisition program for Rollscan measurements. The system will alert the operator of pass or fail accept/reject conditions according to the preset limits.

More sophisticated systems like Stresstech Groupīs CamScan 500 or CamScan 1000, consist of a stand, on which the camshafts are placed manually or by a robot. e.g. a three channel Rollscan makes it possible to measure with three sensors simultaneously. The lobes to be measured can be programmed so that different types of camshafts can be measured on the same stand. Partial testing can be performed when only the quality of critical lobes is desired. The data acquisition program, ViewScan, also makes repeating measurements and statistic process control possible by measurement templates and the statistics feature.

Crankshaft Inspection Stands

Stresstech Groupīs systems for crankshaft inspection can be manual or off-line, audit inspection systems. The minimum instrumentation for crankshaft checking consists of a Rollscan and a crankshaft sensor. With View Scan software used for data acquisition the measurements are remarkably improved. Even more the measurements can be improved by adding sensors with multiple channels as well as a measurement stand, on which the heavy crankshaft are easily handled and rotated.

The crankshafts are loaded and unloaded manually onto the stand and then rotated by a motor. Depending on the needs regarding measurement automation, the sensor can be moved to measure the one or each lobe manually or using programmable logic control. The system reports to the operator a pass or fail condition and indicates the degree and location of damage. A full measuring cycle takes only minutes and can be performed by the grinding machine operator, providing immediate feedback regarding the grinder performance.

Bearing inspection stands

Stand designs for inspecting bearing rings and cylindrical and conical rolls are available in different configurations. The parts can be loaded and unloaded onto the stand manually or automatically. Sensors for inspecting the OD, ID, raceway or face surfaces are integrated in the stand depending on the needs. The part on the stand can be rotated manually or by a motor. Stands for programmable and PC-controlled inspection is also available.

Gear inspection stands

Gear inspection stands include fixing and rotating the part and sensor. They can be configured for one gear surface or so that the OD, ID and teeth surfaces can be measured with the same stand. Also, stands designed to measure gear face surfaces are available. Depending on the need, can be manually operated or the part can be rotated on it by a motor.

When large amount of measurements on different types of gears are made, Stresstechīs fully automatic and programmable stands become very useful.

OD-inspection solutions

Available designs of inspection stands for measuring the OD-surfaces of cylindrical parts cover a wide variety of engine parts such as axles, cam followers, piston pins and rolls among others.

On the stands the parts are rotated manually or by a motor. The part can be placed on rollers or it can be fixed between centers.
